Dr. Gunveen Chawla
You won’t find another caring and compassionate dentist near Barkhamsted quite like Dr. Chawla. Fully dedicated to the field, she finds much enjoyment in working with her patients and helping them feel more confident as they move through life.
Growing up watching her grandfather serve as a doctor, she often visited his clinic and admired the way he helped his patients and how they respected him for his work and care. As she grew up, she became increasingly interested in science, even participating in a dental camp in high school that took care of underprivileged kids. As this intrigue for dentistry grew, she discovered how pivotal the health of a person’s mouth is to their overall well-being. This led her to pursue a career in oral healthcare.
After attending dental school in India, she spent time working in a private office before moving to the United States and enrolling at New York University to complete a Doctor of Dental Surgery. Apart from her dental degree, she is also certified in laser dentistry by the American Laser Dentistry, and she’s a member of the Academy of General Dentistry. Also, Dr. Chawla is a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics.
When she isn’t in the dentist’s office, you’ll find her spending time with her family (her parents and her brother) as well as her husband, whom she met while in dental school. You’ll also find her traveling and dancing as well as hiking and cooking.
Dr. Kenneth Endres
Dr. Endres has a long-standing reputation of being a trusted dentist near Barkhamsted who has more than 40 years of experience in the field. Being initially introduced to oral healthcare as a possible career by his family dentist, he found that he enjoyed science while in school. Once in high school, he discovered the autonomy dentistry could provide.
Once he completed his undergraduate degree at the State University of New York at Albany, he opted for a Doctor of Dental Surgery at Howard University. He then went on to enlist in the United States Air Force and completed a one-year general practice residency at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS. There, he performed intensive rotations in restorative dentistry, oral surgery, sedation dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, and much more.
His assignment took him to Beale Air Force Base in Yuba City, CA, where he practiced at a clinic for two years. After this time, he moved to Connecticut to practice dentistry as part of civilian life.
Outside of the dentist’s office, Dr. Endres has three grown sons, one daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren, Emily and James. He’s very active and continues to play golf, and he enjoys participating in a local Special Olympics Golf Team. Initiating the program, he served as head coach for 12 years.
