Dental FAQ’s

Do you have questions about dentistry? If so, don’t hesitate to contact our dental office and speak with one of our friendly staff members. We are always happy and ready to help in any way that we can. At the same time, we want to make any information you need about dentistry as easily available as possible, which is why we’ve included the answers to some of the most frequently asked dental questions. Read on below to learn more!

How Do I Get Emergency Dental Care?

Your first step is to call our dental office right away. While we do have the option to request an appointment online, it’s always best to contact us by phone so we can hear exactly what’s going on and walk you through what comes next. If you believe your emergency is life-threatening, call 911 and visit an urgent care facility immediately. In most cases, we’ll be able to see you on the same day of your dental emergency to get you out of pain and back to smiling. Plus, we are open 6 days out of the week! Remember that dental emergencies can often be a sign of more significant issues, which is why routine checkups and cleanings are so important.

How Do I Find the Best Place to Get Dental Work Done?

Right away, you must figure out what you’re looking for! Do you need a dentist for your entire family? Maybe you’re searching for a cosmetic dentist? You must ask yourself these questions first so you know exactly what you want. From there, read reviews, look at patient testimonials, and check out the doctor’s bio on their website to see what kind of credentials they have. If everything looks good, visit the office to see if you feel comfortable with the environment and speaking to the staff.

How Much Does It Cost to Get a Tooth Pulled Without Insurance?

The cost of your tooth extraction will vary based on geography and other factors like the condition of your oral health. However, the average tooth extraction fee in markets across the country is between $150 and $400. Keep in mind that additional fees may apply if there is difficulty removing the tooth or any other complications. Plus, wisdom teeth extractions will usually cost more because they require the special services of an oral surgeon.

What Do You Do If You Can’t Afford the Dentist?

Dentistry is all about prevention, which means that routine checkups and cleanings will typically save you from super expensive dentistry. However, dental insurance can partially cover more extensive restorations to minimize your out-of-pocket costs. We will do all that we can to maximize your insurance benefits. And, for those without coverage, we have special offers and alternative financing through CareCredit. You can also google search for free to low-cost dental clinics that operate in some cities.

What Level of Education Is Required to Be a Dentist?

All dentists in the United States must have received either a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) from one of the 67 Accredited dental schools in the US. To get accepted into one of these schools, you must have a bachelor’s degree and typically high grades in math/science subjects. Dental school involves 3 years of studying and hands-on learning. Plus, some dentists continue their education even after graduating to provide more advanced services.
